VIDEO EASY is a group exhibition of video works by seven contemporary artists, representing a survey of video art from around Australia over the past decade. Exhibiting artists include: Fiona McMonagle, Jess MacNeil, Dorota Mytych, Joan Ross, Sarah Smuts-Kennedy, Charlie Sofo and Judith Wright. From the incidental details of daily life captured by Charlie Sofo in his work 'Birds', to the ghostly movement of human shadows over the steps of the Sydney Opera House (in Jess MacNeil’s 'Opera House Steps: March'), to Joan Ross’s satirical look at Australia’s colonial past and Fiona McMonagle’s prize winning stop motion animation 'One hundred days at 7pm'; seen together these video works demonstrate the vast array of ideas and opportunities provided by moving images as a genre.
